Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar relies on winning motorhome brand: Carthago supports racing cyclist with a c-compactline

Never change a winning team: True to this motto, Carthago is supporting world class racing cyclist Tadej Pogačar with a motorhome again this year. The sportsman’s home base at his races throughout Europe is a Carthago
c-compactline. The handover on 7th May was a welcome occasion for a joint bike ride by the employees of the Slovenian Carthago assembly plant in Odranci and their national hero, together with the management.

Two successful brands together - Tadej Pogačar meets Carthago

Tadej Pogačar is probably the world’s most successful racing cyclist at the moment. Among other things, the 23-year-old won the Tour de France in 2020 and 2021. The Slovenian with the winning way had a very successful start to the 2022 bicycle racing year: he took first place in the UAE Tour and also at the Strade Bianche and Tirreno – Adriatico spring classics. The cycle racing star has taken on a lot again with the two major events of the Tour de France in July and the La Vuelta tour of Spain shortly thereafter.

Marcus Kern, chairman of the Carthago Management: “We are delighted that the top racing cyclist is relying on a top class motorhome from our company. Cycling and motorhomes have certain things in common: Hard training and precision work are required in order to produce top performance in both areas.”

The most recent Carthago successes speak for themselves: With two double wins in the vote for “Reisemobil des Jahres 2022” (motorhome of the year 2022) in Germany, the premium brand dominated its classifications in a similarly superior way to the cyclist.

Carthago c-compactline: a sporty Carthago for the cycle racer

The Carthago c-compactline is similarly well-conditioned to the professional cyclist. With a main body width of just 2.12 metres, the A-class motorhome has a slim build and is light and energy-saving with its super-lightweight construction. Thanks to the AL-KO low frame, the fully fledged double floor and the high-stability main body from the Liner class, the c-compactline can also handle long and demanding stages.

Cyclists and their companions can relax in the comfortable lounge seating area, recharge their batteries with sustenance from the functional kitchen, take a shower in the practical washroom and recover in the sleeping area. There is plenty of room for bikes in the spacious rear garage. Clothing and equipment can be put into the large storage compartments in the living area and the double floor of the Carthago.

Joint bike ride by sports star and employees

The racing cyclist and Carthago used the handover of the new motorhome to take a bike ride of a special kind: More than 200 employees cycled together with Tadej Pogačar, Anton Fetscher, the technical managing director of the Carthago Group, hobby cyclists and the racing cyclists of the future from the “Pogi Team”. The ride showed both the enthusiasm of the Carthago employees in cycling and also their high motivation and solidarity with the company.

Sandra Županec, managing director of Carthago d.o.o.: “We are proud of the fact that Tadej Pogačar is staying on board as a part of the Carthago family. The outstanding popularity of this event with our employees on their weekend off is a good indication of the level of their identification with the top sportsman, who embodies the same values as the Carthago brand:
team play, appreciation and trust.”
