PREMIUM SEMI-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES
THE APPEAL OF PREMIUM SEMI-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES
Do you dream of travelling to the mountains for the weekend on the spur of the moment or spending a longer period of time soaking up the sun at the seaside? Do you want a vehicle that offers you the freedom to travel anywhere, has plenty of storage space and ample berths, but is still dynamic? Then a Carthago semi-integrated motorhome is exactly what you need.
WHAT ARE SEMI-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES?
Semi-integrated motorhomes are the coupés among motorhomes – low, streamlined and dynamic.
Unlike fully-integrated motorhomes, they are immediately recognisable by their cab, which is retained from the original chassis, such as a Fiat Ducato or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
The sleek cab gives you a sense of security and makes the motorhomes easy to handle. The low profile of the roof connection improves the aerodynamics and adds a touch of sportiness to semi-integrated motorhomes – perfect for travelling on an adventure.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF SEMI-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES?
The main advantage of semi-integrated vehicles over fully-integrated vehicles is that they are true all-rounders.
Thanks to their compact body width, semi-integrated motorhomes are easy to manoeuvre and suitable for almost all camping requirements, whether you’re an amateur or a pro.
Depending on the layout and features, there’s plenty of room to go on holiday with your whole family, as a couple or alone. What’s more, semi-integrated motorhomes do not fall short when it comes to quality, safety and a comfortable ride either.
All of these benefits come at a surprisingly affordable price. The original chassis cab means that semi-integrated motorhomes are always a little cheaper than expensive fully-integrated vehicles. That’s why semi-integrated motorhomes are also the perfect introduction to the wide range of Carthago motorhomes.
The sophisticated all-rounder – semi-integrated lightweight models with short vehicle lengths within the 3.5 t weight class and extra comfortable models with a gross vehicle weight of up to 4.5 t
The appeal of the Carthago liner premium class: luxurious, extravagant, comfortable and extremely practical all at the same time.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEMI-INTEGRATED AND FULLY-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES?
The obvious difference between semi-integrated and fully-integrated motorhomes can be seen at first glance: fully-integrated motorhomes appear to form “one single unit”, which is due to the fact that they are custom-built on the chassis without a separate cab. The wide passage width between the cab and the living area makes fully-integrated motorhomes feel incredibly spacious and means that there is enough room for a total of four seats to be fitted as standard.
Semi-integrated motorhomes, on the other hand, retain the cab from the original Fiat/Mercedes chassis, which means that they handle like a car and are available at a lower price. Another obvious difference is the number of cab doors. While semi-integrated motorhomes have two cab doors, fully-integrated models only have one, as they are not fitted with a passenger door.
WHAT KIND OF DRIVER’S LICENCE DO I NEED FOR A MOTORHOME?
Our semi-integrated motorhomes with a gross vehicle weight of up to 3.5 t can be driven with a category B driving licence. All semi-integrated motorhomes that exceed this weight require at least a category C1 driving licence.
WHICH CHASSIS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SEMI-INTEGRATED MOTORHOMES?
Premium semi-integrated motorhomes in the 3.5 t weight class and above are available on “Fiat Ducato” and “Mercedes-Benz” chassis. These chassis are connected to the AL-KO low-frame chassis with front-wheel drive.
