Campsite presentation: Luxuscamping Waginger See

Where Upper Bavaria is most beautiful

It's a wonderful place: in Chiemgau, at Lake Waginger, God has been particularly successful in creating the Upper Bavarian landscape: green meadows, high mountains, alpine pastures, lakes, castles and churches. This is probably where Upper Bavaria is at its most beautiful. And in the middle of it all: an equally beautiful campsite, Luxuscamping Waginger See.

You don't need to travel far away to be happy on holiday. Sometimes good things are so close. To be more precise: in the middle of the Upper Bavarian Chiemgau. Surrounded by green meadows, gentle hills, not far from the Chiemgau Alps with Kampenwand or Hochfelln, the campsite of the same name is located directly on Lake Waginger. A small, yet large luxury retreat with all the trimmings that campers love and need to feel good, and plenty more for the perfect time out in the countryside. If you love nature, hiking or relaxed cycling and mountain bike tours in the foothills of the Alps, Luxuscamping Waginger See is the first choice.

The day begins with a visit to the bathing park, which is one of the most beautiful natural outdoor pools in Bavaria. The lake is warm and clear, and a jump from the bathing platform or tower will quickly perk up any morning grogginess and put you in a good mood for the whole day. A quick swim and slide before heading to the adjoining sports park for beach volleyball, table tennis or a game of soccer. In the afternoon, you can go to the surfing and sailing school, and after a boat trip, the wellness garden and the Kneipp facility offer a variety of activities to do something good for yourself and your health. Children can play on the playground by the lake or try their luck with the grown-ups on the 18-hole football golf course. And if, contrary to expectations, boredom should ever set in, the campsite's varied leisure programme will provide cheerful, sporty entertainment. Before the evening comes to an inspiring end with a visit to the open-air cinema by the lake, a stylish dinner awaits you in the restaurant. What a great holiday.

There is no shortage of comfort at Luxuscamping Waginger See: the entire infrastructure is modern, functional, spacious, clean and luxurious. There are exclusive, 200 square metre super-comfort pitches, lovingly furnished individual and rental cabins, barrier-free toilets, showers and washing facilities in the first-class sanitary buildings, beer garden, snack bar and two self-service shops. Those arriving without a caravan can rent a caravan with an awning on site, and there are also exclusive 5-star holiday flats in the adjacent apartment building. Even Bello can come along and enjoy luxury camping: Lake Waginger even has a dog agility course, a dog shower and its own dog bathing beach.

Tip for the next cycling tour:

Luxuscamping Waginger See is the ideal starting point for excursions to Lake Chiemsee, to the Winklmoos-Alm, to the nearby Berchtesgadener Land or to Salzburg. A visit to the island and castle of Herrenchiemsee is highly recommended. You can take a royal stroll or a carriage ride in the beautifully landscaped castle park, and the magnificent castle is well worth a visit. And if you want to learn more about the shy nocturnal animals, visit the Herreninsel bat exhibition in the royal castle.
